God’s first institution on earth
was the family of man
ordained and nurtured by His love
for strength in which to stand

where mothers and fathers are joined
providing secure homes
with God exalted in their midst
the family’s bond is shown

there is no family which can stand
when things are going rough
unless there’s faith in mighty God
to help when times get tough

for when the enemy enters in
and splits the family ties
there comes a downfall due to sin
believing all his lies

man needs the family structured plan
a support for his soul
where love can flourish live and grow
which makes the body whole

that’s why the laws of God are good
for man to live as blessed
while under the protective shield
of wisdom’s perfect best
____
as families honor Christ the Lord
then peace is with that home
like it was intended to be
God dwells among His own
